Feeling Lost is a hard place to be!

Posted by Melissa Callaghan on

Life can be very confusing at times.  We often question which direction we need to go and become unsure with our purpose in life.  This can lead to feelings of anxiety, depression and feeling LOST.

It is becoming very common to feel lost with no desire to face the day.  When we experience these feelings  there is great difficulty in being happy about anything or having any type of feeling.  This is a slippery slope towards depression and can be one of the first signs.

When we feel lost it becomes very difficult to feel anything else.  If there are any moments of happiness they are gone as quickly as they came.  There is difficulty feeling empathy for others or even receiving it when others are giving it to you.  There is just a feeling of numbness.

Going through the motions of the day just to get through it can become an everyday occurrence.

How do you get to this place?

It can be triggered by a single traumatic event, this could be an emotional event or even a financial event. It could also be compounded over the years of feeling trapped in a cycle of debt or emotional abuse that you just can't get out of. You feel like the whole world is against you.

What can be done?

The most important thing to do is get help!!!!!

As a Naturopath I have a holistic approach to helping my patients who are experiencing these feelings.  This includes guidance with life choices which I call holistic life coaching as well as herbal and nutritional medicine for support as there are often deficiencies and dysregulations in neurotransmitters and the nervous system. A Naturopathic approach includes helping with the mind, body, and spirit including amazing herbs that work so quickly in the body to calm it down and regulate the neurotransmitters.

Stress has a huge impact on gut health and this in-turn affects neurotransmitters which help you to balance your mental health.  Taking a medical approach and working to repair these areas will be a major step in the first phase of treatment.  Assessing the source of stress and guiding you through alternative approaches to these stressors will also help the body to heal and give you some clarity on your path moving forward.  As you progress through your treatment plan we will also work on managing the emotions and thought processors so that when you experience future events the triggers are lessened with the aim to prevent future emotions of feeling lost.  I often find that when we work through the reasons for feeling lost and making doable steps to work towards a goal it becomes alot easier to handle.

I'm here to help.

Who am I?

I am a Bachelor qualified Naturopath who specialises in improving metabolic processes in the body. Major areas for improvement include gut, thyroid, kidney, skin and liver health. Conditions such as hypothyroidism, fatty liver, high cholesterol, high blood pressure, type II diabetes, & irritable bowel conditions. I help my patients by giving them symptomatic relief while working on repairing the underlying causes of metabolic stress and waste accumulation. Patients experience amazing results which are seen in their blood tests with improved thyroid markers, cholesterol, and liver markers.  As well as lower blood pressure and see relief from improved gastrointestinal symptoms like the ones that mean you need to know where every single toilet is before you leave the house.
